This is a new and exciting position at the Girls’ College. Experiential education is a teaching philosophy that informs many methodologies
in which teachers purposefully engage with students in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop
skills, clarify values, and develop people's capacity to contribute to their communities. The Director of Experiential Learning will be
responsible for overseeing all learning experiences and education programmes beyond the classroom. The position includes a mix of
responsibilities including programme and curriculum design, implementation and evaluation, teaching skills, administrative duties and
community engagement.
• A passion for the outdoors, adventure and exploration
• Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a minimum of five years’ experience and be physically able to
meet the work demands
• A sound and progressive understanding of international trends in girls’ education and experiential education practices
• A passion for curriculum design and innovative pedagogy
• A high level of organisational, administrative and communication skills
• The ability to be an integral and visionary member of the academic and character education development teams
• An interest and vision for a student-centred holistic education programme
• A willingness to integrate technology into teaching and learning
• A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
• A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate extensively in the broader
life of the school
• This role will involve travel and time away at our Kamoka Bush School during Term 2 of each year
• Knowledge of health and safety and risk assessment practices will be a distinct advantage
• Proof of registration with SACE
• Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
